I have been reading Robin Cook for as long as i can remember. Most of his books feature Stapelton-Montgomery Pathologist pair. This one is no different. There are a series of mysterious deaths in Manhattan General. All the dead are young and just recuperating from a non-serious surgery. They are also new subscribers to AmeriCare.Laurie does the autopsy. She finds the cause of death to be heart attack but is not able to determine the manner of death. That is why the heart attack when the heart and the blood vessels are healthy. Thus begins the search for the serial killer working the graveyard shift in the hospital. Also running parallel are the straining relationship between Laurie and Jack, Laurie's being positive for a cancer causing gene, an unexpected pregnancy. All in all, the book like all RC's works are worth reading..with tight sequences and very little loopholes.
P.S. This is RC's 25th Novel.
